Meet Satya Space with Renee
Renee Gongora was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. She started her career as a certified American Sign Language interpreter. Later, she served in the U.S. Army from 1996-1999 and traveled coast to coast, border to border, Europe and back. After serving in the military, she began her pursuit in teaching and maintains certifications in all levels of Special Education, Deaf Education, American Sign Language, and English as a Second Language (ESL/ELL). She's been in public education since 2005. She holds an Associate’s degree in Sign Language Interpreting, Bachelor's degree in Communications, Master's degree in Deaf Education, and Educational Specialist Degree (doctorate level) in Teaching and Learning.
Renee started her home yoga practice in 2006 in Granbury, Texas. She began studying under the wonderful teachers in Corpus Christi in 2010. She earned certification for Teaching Kids Yoga from Mi Yoga at Yoga Studio of Corpus Christi in summer of 2017 to combine and share her love for yoga with the youth. Renee earned her 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification under the lineage of the Yoga Studio of Corpus Christi and her esteemed teachers Michelle Acebo and Gretchen Weber. Renee is now adding Tai Chi to her skill set.
Yoga has taught her how to cope with life challenges and embrace herself and others with love, exuding that zany quirky blend of humor and wisdom to humbly share the light with others. Yoga helps her relieve the multitude of spine and neck issues while honoring the mental and emotional stories within her. Renee wants to share the joy and healing journey of yoga with all whom are willing to learn. Renee continues her study with mindfulness, PTSD management and Stress/Anxiety Disorder management.
